FIRST GENERATION

1. Michael Melvin was born about 1800 in Ireland. He resided in Gorteen, Parish of Kilfree, Sligo in 1824. He resided 1824 to 1830 in Ardnaree, County Mayo, Ireland.

He was married to Dorothy O'Hara (daughter of David O'Hara and May) on March 2, 1824 in Parish of Kilmoremoy, County Mayo, Ireland. Dorothy O'Hara was born about 1804 in Ireland. She immigrated about 1863 to New York City, Manhattan Cty, New York. She appeared on the census on June 24, 1870 in New York City, Manhattan Cty, New York. She appeared on the census in 1880 in 515 Canal St., New York City, Manhattan Cty, New York. She died on May 11, 1890 in 537 Canal St., New York City, New York. She was buried on May 13, 1890 in Grave 6-2-W-5/8, Calvary Cem., Woodside, NY. She was also known as Dora. Michael Melvin and Dorothy O'Hara had the following children:

2. Patrick Melvin (Michael-1) was born on April 2, 1826 in Ardnaree, County Mayo, Ireland. He was baptized on April 3, 1826 in Parish of Kilmoremoy, County Mayo, Ireland. He was a Laborer between 1870 and 1880. He appeared on the census on June 18, 1870 in New York City, Manhattan Cty, New York. Kahle was born on February 14, 1895 in Jersey City, Hudson County, New Jersey. He was baptized on March 1, 1895 in St. Mary's, Jersey City, New Jersey.
